The committee met to begin the process of creating a strategic plan for the Lake County After-School Coalition.
The committee agreed upon and adopted the name, “Lake County After-School Coalition,” for the organized group of community leaders who are forging this after school program initiative.
Judy Fried, NICASA, developed the components of the strategic plan.

The Lake County After-School Coalition is dedicated to increasing access to quality after-school and youth development programs in Lake County based on each community’s needs and resources.
Through a countywide effort, The Lake County After-School Coalition will advocate and support the development and continuation of effective after-school programs that will empower all Lake County youth to learn and thrive.

2. Formalize a permanent organizational structure
3. Continue coalition building and partnering to maximize support and resources for after-school programs to ensure a community wide commitment to education.

5. Assess the effectiveness of programs on an ongoing basis.
The Strategic Planning Committee will continue to write and revise the plan with suggested contributions from the Lake County After-School Coalition members.
