July 25, 2005 Meeting Notes

· Meeting Location: Jim Sipes is arranging communication between the coalition and NIC, an association of seven Lake County companies/corporations. They will be asked to sponsor and or host the event. In the mean time, Liz Nelson reserved Crowne Plaza. They quoted $16.95 for a hot, sit-down breakfast. If no sponsors are forthcoming, we can charge $20 per person for this package or adjust the meal and cost to better meet our needs.
· Keynote Presentation: Other gang-related programs are scheduled around the time of the annual meeting. To keep the program focused upon the positive, it was decided to highlight successes. Senator Obama cannot commit until close to the date. Therefore, presentations must stand alone, if necessary. It was decided to feature youth from 6 or so programs in person and/or via videos, PowerPoint, skits, art, etc., and to accompany presentations with displays that can be placed around the room. Mary will ask Theresa to email leadership team members to determine who would be willing to participate via a presentation and/or display. They will report their interest at the August 11 meeting.
· Details: Liz Nelson will work-up a flyer/invitation.
Liz Nelson will provide 300 folders and St. Martin students to stuff them.
Michelle Michaels will create labels for folders.
Judy Fried committed Nicasa to handling registrations and fees.
Connie Willegal will provide list of nominees (and ballot?).
Theresa and Andy will handle publicity.
Mary will look at the response card used last year and update as needed.
