All Lake County youth will have access to quality after-school and youth development programs in Lake County based on each community’s needs.
The Lake County After-School Coalition will advocate and support the development and continuation of effective after-school programs, based on each individual community’s needs that will empower all Lake County youth to learn and thrive.
Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment to establish community needs, gaps, and current after-school programs

Continue Coalition building and partnering to maximize support and resources, including funding for after-school programs, which ensure a community wide commitment to youth development

A. Maintain communication with Summit Stakeholders
B. Identify and recruit members for the Coalition
C. Develop a network for program providers
D. Develop promotional strategy for after-school programs

Maximize use of website which should include current information on
funding, available resources; and be used as a clearinghouse of information on
after-school/out of school programs in Lake County

Facilitate a process to develop and implement effective, engaging, and inclusive after-school programs

A. Facilitate a process for identifying effective programs that address academic, social, and emotional growth.
B. Develop and maintain a comprehensive listing of current programs and program models.
C. Guide in the establishment of relevant programming including recreational programming.
D. Facilitate a process and identify participant populations and their particular needs. (Need to discuss special needs)
E. Develop guidelines for ongoing communication with parents and guardians regarding all facets of programming
F. Develop guidelines for a process for ongoing parental involvement and engagement
