During session a letter to the Governor was passed around and 115 members signed supporting more resources for after school programs. Chuck Balling represented the Lake County After School Coalition and reported Dr. Adams agreed to make after-school programs a priority as they seek grant funding.
Alex Marx reported the Mundelein After School Coalition dance held at Mundelein High School in December was a huge success. The kids from the middle schools in Mundelein met on a regular basis and put the event together. The Mundelein After School Coalition held the dance to provide a safe and healthy after school activity for the students. Alex said that they are now working on their next step.
David Husemoller reported that panelists from the Lake County Community Development Commission (CDC) met last week to review 17 applications for CDBG funding of Self-Sufficiency activities for FY 05.
